Integrative medicine is an ecosystem of support for pursuing your own health and well-being. Inside that ecosystem is someone who cares about you.


Going through extended medical treatment can be stressful. Anxiety, fear, depression and the presence of chronic pain are often part of this journey. We understand that and have developed several integrative therapy programs for you and your caregiver that will hopefully help reduce those negative aspects and increase your healing process.


There is no cost for these classes for guests or caregivers with the exception of the beading class. 

Our programs include:

Nutritional Classes — offered monthly, taught by registered and licensed dieticians from Mayo Clinic, a hands-on class offering healthy recipes for patients with compromised immune systems or anyone wanting to form better eating habits.  

Mindfulness Classes — taught by a licensed psychotherapist Ph.D. This class incorporates the medical model of utilizing meditation, relaxation and breathing to better cope with treatment and illness. An evening class is offered weekly.

Yoga classes — Adaptive yoga classes, where poses can be modified for participants' ability and comfort level, are taught by a certified yoga instructor and offered one afternoon a week. 

Chef’s Night In — brings community groups in three to four times a week to cook and serve dinner to all of our guests alleviating the stress of preparing meals.

Art Therapy Classes — includes both painting and beading. There is a $5 supply fee for the beading class. All other art supplies provided at no cost. Classes offered monthly.

Tai Chi — taught by an experienced instructor, Tai Chi is a slow moving meditative exercise designed to increase strength and flexibility, decrease joint pain and stress, reduce blood pressure and increase one’s sense of well being. It can be done seated or standing and no prior experience or equipment is necessary. Class is offered one evening a week. 


Some of these programs are based on sound medical research, like the mindfulness based stress management class and our yoga classes; others offer freedom from the burden of daily activities. Many physicians, social workers and other healthcare workers have supported these programs and believe, as we do, that they can assist in the positive continuum of care of patients and be a catalyst in healing.

There is no cost for these classes for guests or caregivers.
